About Laurelhurst Theatre: The Laurelhurst Theater is thrilled to celebrate our 100th birthday this year! Built in 1923 by Walter Tebbetts (who later built the Hollywood and Roseway theaters) the Laurelhurst had just one screen and a pipe organ. The theater has undergone many renovations and now offers four separate screens, local beer and wine, fresh pizza, salads, cookies, and all the classic movie theater treats.

As we consider what our beloved theater has meant to so many people over the last 100 years, we are incredibly grateful for the continued support from Portlanders and visitors from all over the world. In celebration of our ongoing connection to our city, and to give back to the place that has built us up, we are hosting monthly community fundraisers. Proceeds are donated to various local non-profits every month for the entirety of 2023. Look for announcement of these benefits we are calling “Laurelhurst Centennial Community Fundraisers” on all of our social media platforms and our website.
